My Story

I'm Katie, the teacher behind Garden & Ivy Studio. I hold a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Southern Mississippi, with certifications in English Language Arts, Library Media, Special Education, and Gifted Education.

I've worked as a school librarian and taught English online to children around the world with VIPKid, QKids, and TutorABC, which gave me a deep love for children's literature and its role in a child's education. Today I'm also a homeschool mom to two boys, and I create Charlotte Mason–inspired resources that bring together literature, nature study, geography, and art.

I believe children learn best when they have wonderful things to read, interesting things to talk about, and opportunities to explore the world around them.
