Nurture a love of literature through quality children's books, thoughtful conversation, and meaningful engagement with stories.

Inspired by Charlotte Mason's emphasis on living books and narration, Garden & Ivy Literature Studio offers personalized online sessions that bring together rich literature, guided discussion, and age-appropriate instruction.

Children explore ideas, develop comprehension, and learn to express their own thoughts with confidence.

About Me

Katie, founder of Garden and Ivy Studio, smiling outdoors

Hello, I’m Katie.
I believe children learn best when they have wonderful things to read, interesting things to talk about, and opportunities to explore the world around them. I hold a Master of Arts in Teaching from The University of Southern Mississippi and am a Mississippi licensed educator with endorsements in English, Library Media, and Gifted Education.
My experience as a school librarian and online English teacher has shaped the way I teach. I have seen how a wonderful story can spark a conversation, how asking the right question can encourage a child to think more deeply, and how giving children time to explain their ideas can build confidence.
I am also a homeschool mom, and homeschooling has given me an even greater appreciation for learning that leaves room for curiosity, imagination, nature, and good books. I created Garden & Ivy Studio because I wanted to bring these things together in one place.
My goal is simple: to help children become thoughtful readers, careful observers, and confident speakers, and to make learning something they truly enjoy through stories, thoughtful conversations, and nature. That’s the heart of Garden & Ivy Studio.
